Mandalas ships authentic Indonesian batik and kebaya from Jakarta to customers around the world. Singapore and Malaysia are our largest international markets, and we deliver across Southeast Asia, Australia, the Middle East, Europe and North America.

All our international prices are DDU — Delivered Duty Unpaid. That means there might be additional duty after your goods arrived in your country.

Where we ship

Our most frequent international destinations are:

  • Singapore — our largest international market. Short transit from Jakarta, and particularly popular for kebaya and Peranakan styles.
  • Malaysia — strong demand for kebaya, sarimbit sets and Raya occasion wear, with orders across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.
  • Brunei and the Philippines — regular regional destinations.
  • Australia
  • United Arab Emirates
  • United Kingdom, United States and Canada — largely Indonesian diaspora and collectors.

If your country is not listed, it may still be available at checkout — select your destination to see the options.

Delivery times

  • Singapore — 3 to 5 working days
  • Malaysia — 4 to 7 working days
  • Rest of world — 10 to 14 working days

These are transit estimates from dispatch, not from the moment you order. During Hari Raya, Chinese New Year and the year-end period both production and courier networks run at capacity, so allow extra time if your order is for a specific date.

Shipping rates

Singapore and Malaysia — typically under IDR 100,000, which is roughly SGD 8, MYR 26 or USD 6 at current rates.

Rest of world — between USD 10 and USD 50 per kilogram, depending on distance.

Exact shipping cost is calculated at checkout once you select your destination. Currency equivalents above are approximate and move with exchange rates.

How to order from overseas

  1. Choose your pieces. Browse men's batik, women's kebaya and batik, or matching sarimbit sets.
  2. Check your size. Indonesian sizing runs smaller than European and American sizing. See the guidance below before ordering.
  3. Select your country at checkout. Shipping options and costs appear there.
  4. Track your order. Follow your parcel on our tracking page.

Sizing for international customers

This is the most common question we receive from overseas buyers. Indonesian garment sizing generally runs one to two sizes smaller than European or American equivalents, and batik shirts are cut closer to the body than a standard Western dress shirt.

Rather than ordering by your usual letter size, measure a shirt you already own and like the fit of — chest, shoulder, sleeve and body length — and compare those numbers against the size chart on the product page. If you are between sizes, size up: a shirt can be taken in, but shoulders cannot be let out.

Our guide to ordering batik from abroad covers sizing, choosing pieces and timing in more detail.

Sending batik as a gift

Batik travels well as a gift — light, unbreakable, and carrying genuine cultural meaning. Popular choices include a premium long-sleeve shirt, an embroidered kebaya, or a matching sarimbit set for a couple or family.

If you are buying for someone else and unsure of their size, a classic motif in a neutral colour is the safer choice.

Indonesian sizing runs smaller than Western sizing. Measure a garment you already own and compare against the size chart; if between sizes, size up.

Can I return an international order?

Yes. Please contact our customer support and we will assist you.

How long will delivery take?

Singapore 3 to 5 working days, Malaysia 4 to 7, and the rest of the world 10 to 14, measured from dispatch.
